PDX Jazz is seeking an experienced Membership Associate. Our 501 (c)(3) non-profit is the largest organization presenting jazz performances and associated education programming in the Pacific Northwest. We produce an internationally recognized two-week, multi-venue citywide jazz festival annually that includes headline music performances, films, artist conversations, lectures, masterclasses, exhibitions, and jam sessions; flanked by year-round seasonal concerts. Our education programs provide learning opportunities to under-served students. These initiatives extend across the entire student body, emphasizing an interdisciplinary appreciation of jazz from a historical, sociological, and cultural perspective.
General Position Summary
The Membership Associate is responsible for recruiting new members, and retaining existing members, in support of strategic business goals and objectives. S/he generates and implements tactics to drive growth of our membership base.
Responsibilities
Recruit, retain, and engage PDX Jazz members.
Develop and implement a member recruitment, retention, and engagement plan.
Manage membership recruiting at PDX Jazz shows.
Design and execute digital and direct mail appeals recruiting new members.
Develop strategies and programs to stimulate member engagement with PDX Jazz.
Provide on-going stewardship of member accounts and fulfillment of member benefits.
Deepen relationships with members to advance member giving level and ensure member renewal.
Process membership applications, renewals, and communications including welcome letters, acknowledgement letters, special event invitations/RSVP’s, renewal notices, and tax receipts.
Maintain the membership database; ensure current, complete, and accurate information, record keeping and reporting.
Analyze and report on membership metrics and trends.
Plan, coordinate, and execute membership events.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing membership (individual giving) programs.
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
Strong interpersonal skills, time-management, priority management, project management, critical decision-making, and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and membership/donor database applications.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work irregular hours (weekends/evenings).
